What's your price range? IMO all inclusive is the way to go. Something like Sandals

Sept/Oct is still hurricane season in some places so investigate that as well.

Southern Cross Club

I highly recommend the southern cross club. Excellent food, beautiful beaches, warm sun, great hosts, and relatively private. We had a great time there on our honeymoon. I don't know if either of you dive, but that was some of the best diving I've ever seen. Let me know if you'd like more details.

Like MustISO said above, fall is the peak season for hurricanes. If you book something in the Caribbean or Gulf area, check the cancellation policy.

Or just go to Hawaii--exotic, yet safely familiar.

with sandals though, do you get stuck at their resort?
I'd like to wander around town....explore a little. I dont really want to be forced to eat all my meals there etc..

You can leave but you need to be careful when leaving the property. There's a lot of crime on these islands and tourists can be prime targets.

Never been to aruba but I'd like to go someday.

My fiance and I are planning on something in Europe. :)

We haven't decided yet though, she wants Paris and I want Rome.

Went to the Grand Caymans on a cruise, and I loved it.

7 mile beach :D:D:D

I am thinking about moving there when I retire.

Either a Caribbean Cruise or Hawaii.

Did the former for engagement, and will hit the islands of Hawaii post-wedding. Great sights, guaranteed beautiful waters and weather. Can't beat it.

We're planning to go to Curacao (right next to Aruba) for our honeymoon in October. It looks pretty awesome from everything we've read, and it's way outside the hurricane belt.
We thought about Hawaii but we wanted to go somewhere a little more exotic.

Our #1 choice was French Polynesia but the airfare was too expensive. :(

First time I have ever heard Hawaii is boring....sometimes it not the location that is boring....
