where to get vmware workstation resources?

at work, i got a copy of vmware workstation, i do not have to support it since i'm in the server team, so this would be a fun toy to play with at home.

long story short. where is the best place for a vmware workstation wiki / faq for installing it all the way to running almost everything flawlessly..say a guest os win98?

i wanted to play some games that would only work with older version of os on my windows 7(x64).

i got 'the longest journey' to run almost perfectly, but 'beyond divinity' crashes, probably related to the video.
