Where to get the cheapest soy protein isolate?

I'm currently using EAS soy protein, which I can get a 590G canister of (280G Protein) for $9.88 at Wal-Mart.
(I haven't spotted any crazies there, yet. But, you always roll the dice when you enter. D🙂
Does anyone know of a cheaper alternative than this?

Why soy?

I use this stuff.

It makes you want to have sex with the mirror.

As Nintendesert not-so-subtly pointed out, if you are male, you should be using whey isolate and not soy, and should be limiting your consumption of soy milk. You can end up with lots of side effects over time with excessive soy consumption.

The Gold Standard stuff mentioned above is decent, and GNC usually has it on sale every couple of months. Last time I bought some, it was half price for any size container. The EAS stuff is pretty decent, and you're not going to find a much better price than Wal-Mart. Sam's Club sells 5-pound bags of the EAS whey powders for around $25 if I remember correctly. They don't sell those large containers at Wal-Mart though, unfortunately.

You should check out a local health food's store. I have a GNC and Mom and Pop's steroid place within 3 blocks of me and their prices for the Optimum Nutrition protein and other stuff is the same price as Amazon and Bodybuilding.com.

Opt Nutrition is where its at. With Amazon Prime you can get 5 lbs. for 53.00. High quality, taste good, mixing is easy.

I guess it depends on what flavor you get, because I once bought the vanilla flavor of the Dymatize and it was pretty awful.

I have always bought the gourmet berry flavor. It tastes pretty good, imo. But I am getting tired of it and will probably go for the chocolate flavor next.

I'll probably just get unflavored, generic protein powder. I'm not a big fan of flavoring, really.

I'm about as picky an eater as they come. The Now stuff I posted a pic of above is unflavored, and even then, about the only way I can tolerate it is mixed in with about 10 oz of orange gatorade. No way I could drink any whey protein with just water.

I usually buy the 32oz bottles, mix 10oz with 1/3 cup of whey. It's what I'm drinking right now.

I'm not so sure about that. Evidence pointing towards that is inconclusive, at best. http://www.fertstert.org/article/S0015-0282(09)00966-2/abstract

The only reason I didn't get whey protein, is because it was about twice as expensive as soy protein at Wal-Mart.
However, it's a hell of a lot cheaper at True Nutrition.

True enough on the soy, however why even risk it when you can get good Whey proteins for pretty inexpensive rates? There's enough evidence supporting the increase in estrogen levels to stay away. If there was no other choice for you due to allergies I'd shrug and go with soy. But with options I'd choose the whey every time.

As for flavors, the chocolate is pretty safe and you can mix it with other fruit flavors and be ok. Not a huge fan of the vanilla flavor. It's a very strong vanilla. Chocolate is hard to mess up usually and this is no different. Just milk and chocolate and you're good.

Protein Factory has custom blends with the soy running 5.95/lb. Normally I don't mess with soy but a new study has shown that a combo of soy/casein/whey actually opens the post workout bracketing window to 5 hours, which = a helluva lot more absorption and means 2 meals are possible now vs 1.

You shouldn't use soy unless you are allergic to other types of protein. Its okay for a woman, but a man really shouldn't consume soy on a regular basis.
