hi guys,
i have been browsing job listings lately and it seems that there are some really excellent jobs doing SAP / Baan / Siebol / PeopleSoft / Oracle Financial,Healthcare,CRM implementation and consulting. but they are all looking for qualified professionals with a few yrs experience in those particular systems.
normally you might see "Seeking JUNIOR Unix admin" and then also some jobs for "Sr Unix admins", but in this case the jobs are all looking for SENIOR people, there are no jobs (apparently) for talented people to come in as a JR person and gain the required experience on the job.
so i'm just wondering if there is anyone out there in OT-land who can provide me with some tips. maybe the best/only way to get into this is by doing some training somewhere, or taking some classes, i don't know. i just can't find any info online for people like myself who are looking to get into this but are not currently working for a company who is already running these systems.
also, i guess i might as well ask, which of the various systems i've mentioned are the hottest now and for the next few years, in your opinion? i already have significant Oracle DB & Application Server experience so perhaps i could leverage that some to get into Oracle HC/FI/etc modules?
thanks!! wayne
