SO, I need to get shear pins for my Ariens Tiller. I've looked around a bit. A popular place seems to be www.jackssmallengines.com . The problem is that I've read reviews of the site and there are problems with the company. They aren't scam artists, but the communications is supposed to be horrible if your part is out of stock.

So, anyone got a good site that I could use?

You could likely use something similar.
I have no idea what the tiller one's look like.

I've found that Home Deot (and Lowes probably) sells what is called a Clevis Pin. It's the same thing but when it comes to shearing, the type of metal is important. I think the pin that broke was aluminum or a softer metal anyways. I'll probably check the local Ariens dealer on Monday to see if they have the item in stock. I'll probably order a few if they don't, then grab a clevis pin from Home Depot.

As long as you know to use grade 5 bolts, they are a methodology. You can't pick them without knowledge. I was lucky that the repair center in town was nice to me. I ordered a handful of shear pins just to be safe but he told me that if I wanted to, I could just use grade 5 bolt. He said it could be a permanent fix but I will use it as a temporary one.

Aluminum bolts will probably work, but knowing what I know about aluminum, I'd probably have to replace them every hour. The proper steel bolt (grade 5) is the actual solution.
