Hi,
I have heard of the new 0.18 micron k6-2+ and k6-III+. Since I have some old socket 7 boards that I want to upgrade I was wondering if those cpu's are on the market for desktops? (it is basicly a mobile cpu)
The K6+'s only work with a limited number of SS7 boards. I was looking for some CPU's yesterday and saw some K6-2+'s over on tigerdirect for $50 or $60. If you search the cpu and motherboard forums for K6 you should find some references to web sites that list the boards tested to handle the K6+'s.
Thanks all,
I am going to use thise K6s on HOT 591P (Only has a hacked bios for the K6 2/3 +)
and on Gigabyte GA-5AX Rev 5.1 (Supports 1.3V and above, Manual says it supports the new K6s)
