where to get ide cables

where is a good place to get ideo cables
i was just looking in my case and realized i have some older 40 cables
i wonder how much this is affecting my system performance

Check the for sale forum page. Lots of good PC stuff there from alot of people. (I posted some IDE and floppy cables FS sale there a few days ago)
 
I've never exactly "needed" new cables. By the time I might, it's because I'm replacing that computer and have bought new hard drives (retail) and/or a motherboard.

IDE cables aren't just going to "get old" and reduce performance. If you're using an ATA33 or less drive, you're not going to get any better speed with 80 wire cables.
