I know of NewEgg and TigerDirect, but have only ever used NewEgg. What are some other online places you guys shop at that are reliable and honest?

mwave - excellent place
Performance PCs - great selection & prices, but they mess up orders sometimes, but they have no problem fixing them, so they are good with me.
FrozenCPU - excellent selection, prices are high though
Jabtech - good place, good prices.
 
I use Mwave, because they ship to Hawaii, very good company.
Performance PC.
eBay (great deals on recent computer pulls).
 
I don't mind ZipZoomFly. While their customer service isn't as good as New Egg, they are still fairly decent. Please if you are smart, avoid Tiger Direct and Monarch Computers.

I go back and forth between Newegg and ZipZoomFly, they usually are pretty much the same on prices, but every now and then you can get a better deal at one or the other, so it usually pays to check both before buying. Oh and as far as reliability, I'd ordered several times at both, never had any problems.

EWiz is good as well. I do a lot of shopping with ZZF, too.

Pricewatch.com and Pricegrabber.com are helpful, but pay close attention to the vendors. The lowest price may not be your best option.
 
I have never had a problem with tigerdirect. Just don't plan on the rebates. Which btw I did receive but I don't count on em. They ship extremely fast.

I also use zipzoomfly and newegg.
 
tigerdirect also takes paypal which is nice if you want to keep the wife from knowing what you spent the last 10,000 dollars 😛

I'd rather pay a few bucks more and deal with a company that has a toll free number, answers the phone in a swift manner, has excellent customer service reps, has an active agent on AnandTech, and offers a superior RMA service.

Stay away from TigerDirect. nothing but problems. I've made two orders with them.. The first one was fine... but took a year to get the rebates. The next one was heavily damaged, missing a few items, and it still took a year to get the rebates. Newegg is hassle free each and every time.
 
Newegg and ZipZoomFly are my two favorites. I used Antares for my current build for the mobo and processor and they were absolutely fantastic. Customer service was excellent. I used them after ordering the processor and mobo from Monarch. After 10 days without shipment, I sent three e-mails to cancel with no reply. Finally got them on the phone and they did cancel, however, they haven't credited my Amex yet. Seriously, don't use Monarch - they are horrible and I'll have to call Amex on monday to get the charges reversed. Higly recommend Antares and hope I can send them some customers after their terrific job.
 
In general, you can use http://www.resellerratings.com to check out retailers. Many good ones have been mentioned in this thread.

Personally:

Newegg has been rock-solid for me. No problems with ZZF either. I think I got some fans from FrozenCPU at some point. And I've used Cables4Less several times without incident. I've RMAed things through Newegg with no hassle.

Buy.com advertised a price with a rebate that wasn't good until two weeks after I bought the product (only $20, but it was scummy.)

I got an 'open-box' PDA from Overstock.com that didn't come with the bundled software ("includes all accessories", it said) -- partly my fault, because no refurb/open-box Palm PDAs include the software bundle and I didn't do enough research. But they weren't real up-front about it either. The price was good and it worked fine, though.
 
Newegg.com is my first pick for anything computer-related online. Their customer service is worth the extra few bucks, IMO. Fast shipping, easily navigable website, etc.

A not-so-great story from another website: I ordered a Core 2 Duo E6600 on launch day from TigerDirect. It said "product will ship in 7-10 days." I received it 3.5 WEEKS later. I was not very happy about that. I didn't even bother trying with the mail-in rebate from them either.

Again, I have never ever had anything go the slightest bit awry with Newegg. After ~$2.5k worth of purchases from them, I'm a very satisfied customer.
 
While I have always like NewEgg here is a site no one seems to mention: Directron.com out of Texas. Most of their prices at first glance are not as good as NewEgg's and they don't have the huge selection. However, for California residents NewEgg is not always the best deal. Example: I just ordered the 6600 processor from Directron. $309 out the door with a $10 off coupon I get from their weekly email specials. NewEgg is $308 but California folks are then hit with $22 in sales tax. No way Jose. If you are considering the new Fatality Extreme Gaming sound card check their price out as they beat everyone else. Everything I have ever ordered from them comes well packed and with no hassles.

One more place that is suddenly making waves, but only on select items, is Outpost.com which is Fry's online site. I placed my first order with them several weeks ago for the Antec P180B. $79 after rebate and that included sales tax. The order showed up 2 days later and the box looked like it came straight from the factory. Not even a minor dent. DHL as opposed to UPS. Yesterday I ordered some Corsair memory that had a great price on it. Today I see they have an EVGA 7950GT video card for $230 after rebate (before CA sales tax but with free shipping). That's the best price for a 7950GT right now.
