I would check out the Hot Deals forum and search for desk.

Here's the threads I found, some of these deals may have already expired though:
Desk for only $140 after savings, rebate

HUGE corner desk with hutch at OD for $124.88

kickass mobile officemax computer desk for $75

Computer Desk - $80 shipped

Big "L" shaped desk & Hutch from Officemax B&M for cheap

2-pc Student Desk and Chair Combo (Blue & Gray) $23.66 @ OD

HOT deal! O'Sullivan Soho Student Desk $35+tax at OD B&M

I bought a really simple L desk for $79.95 from my local Office Depot store, the hutch which goes on top with all the extra shelves, two cabinets, CD holders, etc. was an extra $59 or so something I did not need. I have my L desk setup with my iMac on the left hand side, my Brother HL-1240 laser printer in the middle of the L, and my Dell Dimension 4100/866 on the right hand side. It's a beautiful setup because I'm able to efficiently have 2 computers, 2 monitors (iMac has built-in monitor and CPU together) and one printer all sharing one desk. The only thing I do not like about the desk is it doesn't seem as sturdy as I would like it to be. My 19" Dell P991 UltraScan FD Trinitron monitor is a behemoth of a beast which weighs a lot, I hope my desk can support such a beast.

Anyhow here are online stores I would recommend buying a desk from because of three reasons:
1) Selection is decent.
2) Prices, all three of these stores have coupons, coupons, coupons.
3) Free shipping is standard if your order is more than $50 which in most cases it is.

Staples.com
OfficeMax.com
OfficeDepot.com

Other stores you should check out are:
CostCo
Sam's Club
Local furniture outlets

Best of luck, hopefully you'll find the perfect desk for you at a good price. I would strongly recommend checking out the Hot Deals forum though and remember SEARCH is your friend.

:)

This is what I use as my computer desk. Go to Home Depot or similar type store and get a 4x8 sheet of plywood and a 4x8 sheet of formica some 2x4's and a couple of 4x4. Attach the formica to the plywood and attach a couple of 2x4's to the underside for added support. Use the 4x4 as the legs with 2x4's going between the 4x4 for support.

Doing this you end up with a 4x8 work surface big enough for several systems. If you want you would run outlets down one of the sides that you could plug into a UPS. This works for me. I like a really big flat surface for working and could never find one large enough. For a while I used a conference table that I got used as computer desk but found it was a little to all to use for long periods of time.

I did what denali did except I'm lazier. the 8'x4' piece of counter top (i choose a lovely marble green hehe) is the right size, then I bought 6 cinder blocks, 3 per leg. It rocks and cost like $50. If you want drawers buy the $100 HON filing cabinets for legs, the cheap ones arent sturdy enough...

I got my desk at SAM'S CLUB but it's just a workstation type thingy... my 19 inch monitor (samsung 900nf) fits so that's all i cared about. I saw some real nice desks at Home Depot too.

That's right I forgot to mention the home improvement stores like Home Depot and Home Base. They usually have decent desks, chairs and other office furniture. I picked up a decent TV entertainment center which holds up a 32" TV, has room for A/V components for around $149.

Hey RossMAN, how many people around here ever thank you for going to all this effort? Don't you ever get discouraged? I don't think some of these kids even know how to say thanks! It discourages me, I'll tell ya! But thanks for all the effort, and keep up the good work as long as it doesn't bother you.

"Where to get good computer desk?" Did you say good? Did you mean good quality? Or are you looking for a deal on something that will do the job for a few years?

It's funny you mention that because today I received three really nice messages.

1st PM - Someone thanking me for my smart choice on choosing Crucial 256MB PC133 CAS2 RAM for $89.24 instead of going with the die hard Mushkin/Mosel RAM. Anyhow my knowledge of hardware pales in comparison to your guys's but I do lots of lurking and pick up things here and there. This really made me smile.

2nd PM - Someone thanked me for taking the time to help out newbies in the Hot Deals forum instead of chastizing them, LOL. Hey I remember when I was a Hot Deals newbie, it was April 1999 and I asked in the DVD Talk forum "where can I get a bargain on an adult DVD" (embarassed now) and I got the ^*&! flamed out of me. You learn to first lurk, use common sense then post then you gain the ultimate skill, Nefdome.

3rd e-mail - Someone e-mailed me saying thanks for my honest advice on the Fuji Finexpix 1400 being the ideal beginner's digital camera and I posted several links, a good deal, blah blah blah.

I used to get discouraged but not lately. The people here can be very supportive if you then give a chance and aren't afraid to dip your toes in the water. Most people are ignorant/clueless about deals so I always encourage them to open their eyes, read, lurk, use common sense then ask the stupid questions. The mods here do a great job of maintaining the peace for over 40,000 users on a volunteer basis! I just wish they'd answer my frickin' e-mails!

Thanks for taking the time to say hi and thanks, you guys have made my day! Recognition is always appreciated.

Enough babbling time for pizza and to buy my Handspring Visor Deluxe.
