that curb recycling is a giant money pit.
If they don't invest the money in to making a better system now, how do you expect them to ever make it cost effective.
But on another note there are places where the programs are large scale enough to be cost effective, but most places it is not. My uncle lives in Rapid City, SD and there were talks of starting a recycling program. It would cosst millions to implement and opperate and the revenue generated wouldn't even cover the shipping costs of getting it to denver (the nearest place capable of doing the recycling). Building their own plant wouldn't work because of no demand for the recycled products and high costs. There are a lot of cases where it is just best to bury the stuff and forget about it.
