Had a deck built a few months ago and it's time to get furniture and a grill. Any recommendations on where to look for cheapish furniture? I'd prefer something solidly built, metal, with cushions. Looking for a "conversation set" with 2 chairs and a love seat or 4 chairs, with a coffee table. Everything at Lowes and Home Depot seems to be either expensive or wicker. Walmart has some fairly cheap stuff, but it doesn't feel very sturdy.

Old thread revived by spammer with no additional information added by anyone. :(

He could buy the Ron Paul Patio Set, left out in the cold most of the time, it occasionally gets hosed off for visitors.

I like the patio furniture at Ace Hardware. Great place in our area are the antique shops, some aren't crazily expensive and have some strange/eclectic choices in outdoor furniture.

Cheap patio furniture, unless it's in an enclosed porch, is not going to last long. In the long run it's a waste of money. After going through 3 cheap sets we decided to go with a cast aluminum set made by Hanamint. Expensive but it's been outside for 3 years now and looks like new. http://www.hanamint.com/

For cheap patio furniture try Overstock too.

I would think right now would be the ideal time to buy from Home Depot or Lowe's. I wouldn't go too cheap on outdoor patio furniture. I believe towards the end of summer/beginning of fall we bought ours at home depot steeply discounted because the season was ending. $600 7pc set for around $350 if I remember right.

Real men make their own furniture using hand tools and fresh logged wood from the forest.

We bought solid aluminum Woodard furniture set off of craigslist.
It was a $4000 set and we paid $300.

Good patio furniture is expensive as hell.

Cushions and umbrellas are expensive too... especially if you get quality.

We have a few discount places that sell decent cheap cushions (Old Time Pottery and Garden Ridge).
Get cheap cushions every few years because they wear out or get nasty anyway.

Big Lots.
They usually have a pretty good selection, some el-cheapo, some name brand but cheaper than the big box stores.
Especially good if you just plan on using it for 1 or 2 seasons, you can buy the cheapest stuff every couple years & always have decent (looking) furniture.

Go to Home Depot and get just some standard iron tables and chairs and add cushons to them. We picked up a table for about $70 and some chairs for $35 or $40 I think not too long ago.

I get mine from the next subdivision over. My neighbors have some nice furniture, but they'd probably take it back. It doesn't pay to "shop" in your own neighborhood.

There was a spam above me, and I couldn't see a good thread going to waste.

I was disappointed Kranky beat me by four years. It was the perfect opportunity, being created and necroed in March.

btw, multiquote doesn't seem to work on my phone :^/
