Where to get cheap london theater tickets?

You can quite often go to the theatre itself and get one of the cheap ones for tonight's show - typically will be sold as "standing" - however quite often people won't turn up who have "seated" tickets and you can steal a seat 😉

That's probably the cheapest way to do it.

there were a few things i saw in the paper that had good deals. a work colleague while i was there said she used them all the time.

If you're a student, there's a kiosk near the theatre district that sells half price (or greatly reduced) tickets to most shows. Also, check with the theatre.

There's a few discount places around there. Check all of them as prices may vary.

We used to get them at Leicester Square for same day performances.

"The square is also the home for 'tkts', formerly known as the Official London Half-Price Theatre Ticket Booth. This booth is jointly owned and operated by various theatre groups. Tickets for theatre performances taking place around the West End that day are sold from the booth for around half-price. The popularity of the booth has given rise to many other booths and stores around the square advertising 'half price' tickets for West End shows. It is claimed that at least some of these booths are fraudulent. Despite having names like 'Official Half-Price Ticket Booth', they are neither official nor do they offer half-price tickets. "

Here is their site for cheaper than full-price.

Leicester Square is definatly the place to get them as allisolm said. I went to three shows that way and didn't get my tics until the day of. Pretty cheap too.
