I bought an ASUS M3A78-EM used and don't have the driver CD. I need to download the AMD chipset drivers for WinXP but ASUS' own website must be hosting the file on a 56k modem or some crap because I've tried for the past two days to get the 400+ MB file and can never get more than 16Kbps on the download. I did some hunting around on AMD's website and can't seem to find the files. Anybody know of a good alternate place to get this freaking huge driver file?

I need the 780G chipset drivers. The file on ASUS' website is called amd_chipset_v501010008_xpvista.zip and I have not been able to locate it anywhere else. I've googled 780G chipset drivers as well as the exact file name with no luck.

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

Select OS -> Integrated/Motherboard -> Radeon HD 3200 -> Go

Download the Catalyst Package (Option 1). If you need RAID drivers, look for "Additional Downloads" or "Individual driver download packages", then download the individual RAID driver package. Total download should be not more than 60MB.

The ASUS download file is about 400MB worth of unnecessary bloat. What on earth ASUS puts in there, I don't know. I'm going to download it just to find out.

Update: It appears ASUS bundles everything ATI for both XP/Vista 32-bit and 64-bit; ATI display drivers, CCC, HD Audio, SB, and RAID drivers, as well as RAID Utility, AVIVO, MS DirectX 9.0, NET Framework 2.0, and Visual C++ Runtime.

Try using Google Chrome on the Asus website. For some reason it's a lot faster.
