Where to get a suit?

So I'm getting married this summer, and am looking to buy a nice summer-weight suit. I prefer less than about $600, but I'm flexible here. I'm not going to order online. It's been a long time since I've gotten a suit, and want to do this in person at a store. Where should I go?

You're a dude. You get a rental.

Open Google Maps and enter 'Tux rental'. That'll do it.

Go to Men's Warehouse or Joes A Bank for a decent price tux rental. I actually bought mine from Joes A Bank when I got married last year but only because I got a great deal and it was cheaper than renting

I recently picked up a Lauren by Ralph Lauren Total Comfort suit at Macy's for around $350. Cheapest suit I ever bought was Alfani at Macy's for sale around $150. Most expensive was an Armani suit for around $900 after a sale at Sak's 5th Avenue.

Hit a mall so you can try Macy's, JC Penny and the like at one shot..

Men's Warehouse and Joes A Bank will do the trick, but you'll get it cheaper from a JC Penny type store.

I like the summer suits a lot. I'll have to go check them out.

And of those, what is your opinion?

If you're looking for a staple like Hugo Boss, they can be found at the Saks and Neiman Marcus outlets for a decent price. Always buy HB on sale as they so often are. Can't really go wrong with one either.

You bought a tux for less than $150?

If you're the groom, you might want to go white tie. That means a full tux. Tons of places rent them.

Banana Republic tailored fit if you're not fat - really depends on your body size. Monogram suits fit me like a glove, but they're $700-ish and don't go on sale until the end of season. Mofos.

A department store, a men's store, or a tailor. I'm honestly not picking on you personally, but why do so many people here need Internet concensus for the most mundane of tasks that have been undertaken by less than average men for generations?

Find a local reputed tailor. You might be surprised at the deal. And sincere congratulations and best wishes on your wedding.

Banks will start at $600 and up.
Men's wearhouse at $300.

Both have tailoring, plan on $50-100

Even if you don't wear a suit that often, don't just buy the cheapest one you can find. You might think the $135 clearance price "Chaps" at Kohls looks like a good deal, but it won't fit that well and the pants might split the first time you wear it, much less after a couple times dry cleaning.

Going to Macy's is fine, of the suit lines they carry I personally I prefer Jones New York as a reasonable price/quality compromise. Joseph Abboud is pretty good but I'd probably set a price target of $400 on one. Hugo Boss is fine but tends to be "slim" cut and I prefer a bit more room. I bought a Calvin Klein suit and although it's not terrible, I'm not going to buy another one either. I'd avoid altogether the following brands: Alfani, Ralph Lauren (or their Lauren line), and Perry Ellis. It might be worth taking peek in Nordstroms to see if you can get lucky and score a Hickey Freeman clearanced down to your price target, if so you'll have a great suit that will do you proud and will last near forever.

If you're in the midwest, you can get some decent suits at Sims for a good price.

Banana Republic does make some stylish suits, but you pretty much have to have that "skinny Asian" build to make it work. :\

I find that Men's Warehouse suits are not made for me. I'm a slim guy and I like a suit that actually fits me, and nothing there seems to do it. If I weighed 50 more lbs perhaps, but otherwise nah.
