Where to get a dead receiver???

Ok... i've scoured various goodwill/goodwill type places. I still have salvation army to try (dunno if they sell stuff...) but the outcome doesn't look good. Goodwill wanted $50 for a receiver that was "as-is" too... they are nuts.

Pawn shops have working ones, and I could probably nab one for $50-$70, but I don't exactly want to be paying for something i don't need... all i need is the casing.

Other than the mentioned places, and friends....anyone have any ideas on where I should look next.....

Oh, if you're wondering why I want one.. i'm trying to build a pc out of one.. so it looks more streamlined into a home theatre system 😉 And that also rules out the really old receivers (altho some of them look real nice).

Call up the chain stores, Best Buy and whatnot, see if they have any they want to give you.

Alternatively, go dumpster diving at said places. 😉

forgot to mention i already tried ebay... i found one... but shipping was $40

heh, i wouldn't think best buy would give me anything.. they didn't when i was an employee 😛

dumpster diving.. hrmm.. may have to consider that

heheh, while that is pretty nice looking... it takes the fun out of makeshifting a receiver into a case..... that and it's $200 😛

oh, no drives will be seen. i don't need a dvd drive, already got the dvd player 🙂 everything else is just divx/jukebox.

Hmmm, well if you were looking for some dead hard drives or a dead mac cube, I could possibly help you, but I don't have a dead reciever...

Dead NFL receivers are usually in the graves or in an earn of some sort 😛

I've got a Pioneer reciever that doesn't work.

Was just going to throw it away. Case is in excellent condition.

Contact Sound Images in Falls Church, VA. They are located west of 7-Corners on Rt. 50. They sell used gear at their store. I'm sure they would have something that is dead and headed for the dumpster.

7 corners eh? I take my mom to eden all the time... guess i'll try to swing by next time i go 🙂

Yzzim, you got PM... or will
