Will the bestbuy and walmart be the same?

No. They're different brands/specs.

Circuit City will have a laptop for $199 if you sign up for 1 year AOL ($14.95/mo plan might qualify).

hey RossMan! good to see you again, I feel like I haven't seen you around the forums much lately. oh, and mind sending that my way too? O🙂

I'm basically looking for a cheapo laptop (w/o aol) to use for things like aim, email, surfing, and for shuttling files back and forth between locations. Retrobox looks... umm.. a little sketchy? and it seems like most if not all of the laptops are in poor condition. Anyone got anything else along those lines though? or am I better sticking to ebay/craigslist?

thanks!

Read daweeze02's post that link should also work.

For your simple needs there are two laptops under $400 by Walmart and Best Buy. I would go with the Toshiba offered by Best Buy for $379.
