Where to get a 1700+ or 2100+ that overclocks well?

I've been out of the loop and don't know where to shop for one of these.
Looks like Newegg doesn't offer guaranteed steppings anymore.

Newegg definitely isn't the place to get a T-bred "B" now a days..

SVC

Excailber might too..

Both charge a bit more, but it's worth it.

This is for the 2100+ of course.. I think most places have dropped the 1700+ by now..

If you hunt around, you can grab a 1800+ that does 1.45V (stock voltage)

SVC doesn't have a 1700+ or 2100+ and don't mention anything about steppings for the 1800.

Excalibur has the 2100+ 302. Not sure how this o/c's though.

Might try Fry's, but this is iffy at best. (In Oregon anyway)

I used to get 2100 that would go to 2.1-2.2 GHz but the last t'bred B I got doesn't want to go anywhere above 2.0 GHz no matter what voltage. 2100 used to be safe overclocker but it seems I got a dud. Is that the experience nowadays?

Seems to be..

Awhile back ( August ) I ordered two 1700+'s from the Egg and both were A's only capable of about 1900mhz..

Tell you the truth, you might be best off grabbing a 2500+ barton for $85.. You can do 2.2 on stock, and most likely get 2.3ghz

You're going to need @ least 2.4ghz from a "B" to compare with that.

I've been seeing EXTREMELY nice stepping xp1700+s on the buy sell trade forum lately. Just picked up an unknown jiuhb dut3c which probably won't do great but it's not for my main 2 systems. A few very well known dlt3c's have shown up lately hot off the excaliber press; the present owner's lack of luck with 'em may be your gain.

I bought my first dlt3c xp1700 on another forum and it's been really stable at 2352 - think the guy who bought it originally was hoping for 2500 stable, if you go to the overclockers.com site they always have high numbers but I think those guys barely boot into windows sometimes and have huge w/cool peltiers usually. I like my little 62% o/clock so well I bought the exact same stepping off ANOTHER forum by "searching" 1700 every night on a few forums buy sell trade. I would rather do that than buy and return at fry's or cry when a tbred a from newegg shows up - I've really become a 1700 junkie. I suggest that.

There's been talk about 1800+ dltc JIXIB's hitting 2.4-2.5 fairly easy. There are tons of 1700+ that do 2.4-2.5 on air and many on water. You just have to get the right stepping and have a little luck. I got mine at svc a while back.

Not all 2100+ now are duds I bought one 2 weeks ago and it is now running happily at 2.4Ghz I can get it to 2.5 but only at 1.825V and I am not sure if that is pushing my luck with the voltage or not.
