Where to find

I need to find 2 books related to blacks in art, especially in the 18th-19th century. Any information about blacks or about art with blacks in them would suffice.

I already have one but I have no idea where to find any others. This is for my Art History paper that will totally suck.

Thanks

no, I'm trying to show how they were discriminated and how it was shown in the art

Go to your nearest reference librarian at your school (if you are in high school, use your public library as they will have access to more). They will have access to print resources for that. You probably are not going to find a comprehensive internet resource for that.

Edited my post too late. I'm guessing you are in high school. For something this specific, you will need the resources of a public library or college library. A good sized public library will have a deddicated reference librarian who should be able to help you. A college reference librarian would be even better.

Well seeing how most of them were working in the fields at the time, I doubt much art was created. I'm also sure that precious little of what was made survived due to the fact that art created by a people considered as "inferior" would have appealed enough to the people in power to keep around.

What? There was an abundance of art with African Americans in it during that time period/

I cannot find a single book about this subject...screw school :|

That's the spirit :cookie:

I ended up finding books that have 'art' in the title, but I have no idea what's inside. I hope the teacher doesn't figure it out

God why? Oh, that's right, I forgot. The masses seem to believe that we have to be brow-beaten with what happened 137 years ago.
