mainly looking for how fast an impact can the bumper sustain w/o showing any signs of damage. thanks

Ahh zero.

If you mean how force your bumper can withstand without damaging the rest of the car, then it could be between 5-12 mph impact.

i'm interesting in how hard an impact can the bumper withstand without damaging the bumper. i got rear ended couple months ago and now my attorney said the adjustor for the other party emailed him picture of their bumper showing no signs of any damage. my car however suffered enough damage to total the car. there was even an imprint of the paint from the other car's license plate left on my bumper. the police report stated a 15mph collision. so i need to find out if a 99 Camry can hit a car (my car) at dead stop while going 15mph without showing any signs of damage.

sounds fishy - bumpers are supposed to absorb impact, not stay looking good after a collision - IMHO an accident serious enough to total your car would show considerable damage to his bumper 100% of the time - maybe he got his car fixed immediately and is trying to weasel out of responsibility... did you see his bumper at time of accident? It's always good to carry a disposable camera in your car for incidents such as this...

my car is a 92 infiniti G20. i didn't get a chance to take pictures at the scene. at the time of the accident, a cop was there to witness the impact, pulled us over, got our info, then let the other lady go. i didn't even get a chance to get her info and had to wait for the police report to get it. we both have AAA. i think the adjustor for her side is hinting that i have damage to my car prior to the accident. there is a dent on the driver side of my rear bumper, but the damage from the rear ender is from the passenger side as she was changing into my lane from my right.
