I have a CAD machine with a Diamond Fire GL 4000 video card. It has a fan on the GPU that's about .25 inch thick, and has the blades pointed to the outside (like a squirrel cage) rather than a normal fan. The fan is dying, what can I do for a replacement?
you could try using a tenmaxx lasagna. it is pretty hard to find small fans like that.. trust me I know.. I needed one for my iopener. I eventually just used a heatsink/fan from my TNT2U
How about RMA'ing it to Diamond? For another idea, how about a new blower... not sure if any of these will fit, but hey... someone had to manufacture it. http://www.nidec.com/dcfansquickguide4.html
You might also consider a 40mm axial fan if there's room.
Nidec makes some great fans, but they are few and far between in the retail channel. The pricetag ain't great, but to keep the card going, I would choose the Lasagna as well.
