I have a newer computer which has no serial ports and no PS/2 ports. I need to get a PCI card that can provide me these. I've searched google, newegg, etc. but can't seem to find any. Do you guys know of any places that sells such a thing?

I've never come in contact with a PCI card that has all of those connections. Does your PC have USB ports? Try getting a PS/2 to USB adapter. As for the serial, I beleieve there are PCI cards that have serials on them.

I've honestly never seen a motherboard that doesn't have PS/2 or Serial ports.

Good luck!

Some older (late P3 early P4) compaqs had only USB ports for mouse/keyboard on them... back when USB keyboards first came out and it was the "future"...

I believe the reasoning for not being able to find a PCI card w/ PS2 ports on it is not only would the card not work until you were inside of windows or another OS (you couldn't use it in the bios or to install windows), but almost every motherboard has PS2 ports, so there is very little of a market for 'em.

Best bet is a USB -> PS2 adapter, like bibitob said. Circuit City has 'em for ~$20.

You did not look very hard:

PCI SERIAL

Just use a USB adapter for the mouse. Often a keyboard comes with a USB Adapter if you look for them in the stores.

Newegg has the usb->ps/2 type converters for $5.00 each.

When you say you need a serial ports do you mean the old rs-232c type? Newegg also has usb-rs232c converters for around $12-13. I actually had no idea they made something like that until I did a search on the site, there are actually quite a few vendors that make something like that. No idea how well they work, but you can find rs-232c cards pretty easily/cheap (Newegg has those also). I think I would go for the card instead of the adapter, those usb cable coverters seem a bit iffy (I would think there would be voltage issues?).

There are a couple of PS/2 kbd/mse to USB converters here as well - $7. to $15. DO NOT BUY PASSIVE connector adapters - the mouse and keybord have to be designed for them for them to work and it that was they case, you'd already have the adapters for them.
