My hard drive failed. It only makes "click" click sound. I have valuable data on it. I believe it's physical damage.

Where can I start to look for the professional data recovery service? Any recommendations? Thanks.

thanks.... The most data I want to recover is my 10-month-old daughter's photos. My personal data is valueable but can't compare to my daughter's. I feel so awful. No matter how much I will have my pictures back. I am so depressed...

does sound like physical damage. try freezing it a bit, maybe that 'll work. can't hurt. otherwise yea, data recovery.

raid should be standard these days.

you mean "freeze" it like in a fridge? or just leave it cool in air for a while? The IBM 8MB hard drive is so .... I upgraded from a very stable WD1000BB drive which served 24/7 without problem. The new IBM only ran for like a week...

oh, actual freeze. logic behind it is to contract the materials and hopefully temporarily unstick something. its a shot in the dark, but its a shot.

2nd shot in the dark is to buy a 2nd idental harddrive and swap the logicboards.

3rd shot in the dark is for less valuable info, the drop kick.
