I don't know if this is the correct forum for this but I couldn't really find a specific one that would fit my question. But does anyone know of any online site or B&M store that sells MCSE books, or any MS Press books, along with any technical books (ie programming, OS books)?

bookpool is cheap, but alot of stuff is never in stock...

if you want to try something a lil different you can try http://lcis.booksonline.com/

its a bookclub, but the prices are pretty good. When you sign up you can get 3 books for 1.99 and the last one free, plus they have some other packages. You pay shipping costs, but shipping is not that much. When I signed up I was expecting them to rip me off on the shipping, but it turned out pretty well. I believe the catch is that you have to purchase 2 more books at member price (which are still good prices), and if you don't decline each months selection they will automatically send it to you... But that is just a matter of clicking a button on their website once a month, or you can stop your membership after you complete the 2 books.

Also, you can get some decent books from auctions like on amazon or ebay....

In a linux users trash can?

lol, but seriously, from the ones I've read, you get what you pay for. I know the MS press ones cost more, but I think they're worth it.

You can actually buy any book that's cheap, go to your local Barnes and Nobles and exchange it (without a receipt) for a book that you really want.

I second the Sybex recommendation.

Just don't get New Riders exam 70-210. It's packed with info, very in depth, but whoever edited this must have been delerious. Often new terms are introduced but not defined until 20 pages later for no good reason. It's like the finished editing it, then the guy who takes it to the printers drops the copy, pages go everywhere, and he's too scared to own up, so he puts them back the way he sees it, and passes it to the printer.

Sybex, on the other hand, couldn't be more of a contrast. Really well edited, just excellent.

That's my 2 cents :D
