Where to download (or file share) books from?

Just wondering... I guess its not as popular as mp3 swapping, but there should be some sites right? I remember seeing several sites already with TONS of books, but forgot where they were....

Project Guttenberg ...and if you want to make them into a ebook format such as for Microsoft's Reader, there's a free plug in for MS Word from Microsoft.

Public Domain laws vary in different countries. For example, a book may be in public domain in Canada or Australia, but not yet in the US. 😉

I really don't see downloading books as bad. Because you could go to any library and check out most any book your after for free. So in a way books are already kind of public domain. I don't see anything wrong with getting them online to read.

libraries have music that you can check out too, but not necessarily enjoy listening to.

Project Guttenberg is actually legal. There are like thousand(s) books there. Thought most of them pretty old.
