Where to buy...

Just recieved a bonus and decided to get a new monitor, the NEC MultiSync 20WMGX2-BK. Since I can't get it locally, an online purchase is the only option. The biggest concern is RMA policy, I want to make sure I can easily return it if there is a problem especially with stuck/dead pixels. I've been searching and have found several decent deals, but can't find any info on anyones' return policy. Newegg is out, their policy is unbelieveably bad. So out of all the other e-tailers, who is my best bet?

ohhh, i have been in the same boat as you all of August. Buying online is risky with being able to return with dead pixels ( and you will have to eat the shipping charges). I have bought two online and each one came with a dead pixel. (I decided to pay the return shipping charges).

I do though, have an order for three, yes, three of them from samsclub coming. They have a perfect return policy and i can just bring the others to the store for a return and will be able to skip the return shipping costs.

The only downside, it looks as though on their site the model is just the Silver/White one. To me, thats not too big of a deal, as eventually i will get a nice white (or are they silver?) Antec P180 case to match it.

But maybe you have a Fry's nearby. I do not since i live in MA, so the only way I can get this monitor is through online retailers.

And my quest will not be over unitll I get a perfect one (after all, i will be looking at it for years to come).

:)

So my lesson learned for the future (since i am VERY picky about my monitor quality) is to always buy monitors B&M or through a retailer like costco or samsclub for easy returns.

But if your not picky, and dont mind the possibility of a dead pixel, online retailers are for you. But i am guessing you are just like me, especially since its a top of the line monitor, and you probably want perfection.

:)

Absolutely, especially when paying that much. I don't mind paying for for the quality, but the quality had better damn well be there, and if there is a problem I want it taken care of without a bunch of hassle.

Samsclub would have been nice, but I'm partial to the black one... :) I'm just not interested in sticking a beige/white monitor on my desk next to my black speakers, keyboard, mousepad etc.

Fry's is the only large B&M that seems to carry it in store, but I'm in the midwest so that's not an option. Best Buy carries them online at MSRP plus shipping, so I may have to go that route. I'll keep looking online, if I come up with a good e-tailer with a decent return policy I'll post it.

yea, i seem to like the black one as well, but i guess i will be able to compare first hand when my white ones come this friday.

I could probably even switch the stands on them, so that my white one has a black stand.

I own the white one. Doesn't look terrible but...I think I would have preferred the black one :p

true, but maybe the white will grow on me.

It is definitely more classy looking (sorta like the Mac's), but i guess i will see.

From the pictures it looks as though the side is silver as well as the front trim, and just the stand and back of the monitor is white. Is that true? :)))

OK I found what seems to be a great place to get a monitor online. Decent price, free shipping and a great return policy at monitoroutlet.com. I just placed my order, I figure it should be here by Wednsday, maybe Thursday.

Congrats! The price is higher than the average, though. It's not Jebus Christ in electronic form but it's pretty much the x1950xtx of the LCD world ;)

Yeah the price isn't the best I've found, but for a mere $20 I get peace of mind, well worth it to me.
