Might as well get a pre built shed if you have to ask about lumber price, because pre built is cheaper.

Prices at lumber yards are very consistent with each others, because tools/nails and other supplies is where they make money.

Ahhh no its not. If I used the same stuff they do I am not paying labor or their markup for parts.

The shed my wife wants and what I will build wqould cost around $5000 or more. I can do it for about half and upgrade some parts.

Garden Shed Kits, Storage Shed Kits

Space Maker Storage Shed

Red Cedar Deluxe Cabanas

Custom Wood Shed

8x12 Doll House

16x20 Vermont Cottage

Better Sheds

ahhh... thanks you just proved my point. Most of those are just the wood pre cut. And even then its there choice of wood and that does not include the ground setup, paint, insulation (cheap r13), etc..

Most of those single story basic ones cost the same as the planned 2 story one I have in mind and that is with the prices i have gotten from HD and lowes.
Complete your shed then come back and enlighten us...You will be surprise how much it cost to built. DIY shed will cost the same as kit shed or a little less but will take alot more work & planing.

Cedar is expensive & doesn't need paint/oil.

I have build stuff like this before and I know. I have all the tools from router, table saw, etc...
Also I HAVE to paint it to match the house. HOA rules. Also the roof has to have the same color and so on...

Bought more than 430 sq ft of 84 lumber decking. Less than a year, cracks and splinters everywhere. Never buy AGAIN.
