Where to buy USB2.0/Firewire combo card

I have an Ali M5271 chipset combo card and its nothing but trouble and I hear NEC is the good stuff.

Where can I get a combo card that uses NEC solely?
The ones I can find are based on Ali M5271 only or a combination of M5271 for USB2.0 and NEC for Firewire

I'm not sure how to ensure you get one with the NEC shipset but I can tell you for sure that this combo card is a piece of sh!t:

i think it's probably the Ali M5271 chipset but I can't tell what's in there for sure. I'll watching this thread for details on how to get a better card.

- This one has an NEC chipset for USB, a VIA chipset for FireWire, and a SIIG chipset for ATA-133.

Heisei makes good inexpensive ones which also uses the NEC/VIA combo chipset but personally I wanted an add on combo card so I got a deal on aNitroAV Card Firewire800 combo card which also come in a Firewire400 Combo. These cards are based off of the TI chipset for Firewire and the NEC for the USB which is the best IMO...Keep in mind that there are 2 NEC USB Highspeed chipsets with the latest one being troublefree and higher in performance.

How about a pure VIA chipset based combo card? Is it just the chipset or does the integrator matter too?

Would you guys say that if a product doesn't mention which chipset it uses (like in a Newegg.com listing) that it probably uses the cheaper brands and not NEC or TI?

Not necessarily a even the top chipset performers have newer revisions so them being a 3rd party could sell off their left overs or non top notch (as long as the chipset meets the required specs) TO VARIOUS MANUFACTURES...also keep in mind that this is only part of the solution for performance as the devices and config also fits into the solution for performance...as seen in this thread
