where to buy replacement laptop screens

like the title says i need a replacement screen and need help in knowing a good place to buy one. its a dell studio 1569

Buying a replacement from Dell is generally a bad idea due to how much they tend to charge for LCD replacements.

Remove the screen from your computer, and search the model number on Google, on eBay, or on an LCD reseller's website such as laptopscreen.com

is there an advantage of matte over glossy?

typically matte = less/no glare with sunlight, but won't give as "vivid" colors as glossy

do make sure that the matte one is compatible with your laptop

I've had pretty good luck with amazon for laptop screens, but most of the repair work I've done is on MacBooks. $65 on amazon:

This. Without opening it up it will be hard to get an exact replacement. Laptops can use several different screens throughout their production run. Most times that are interchangeable, sometimes not. The LED screen connectors can be on the right or left side, sometimes the mounting brackets are in different locations too.
