Some jackass got into my car and decided they would steal the 30¢ in change from the change drawer and the faceplate to my radio but not the radio itself. (thing would be damn near impossible to get out without taking half the dash apart) But I guess they took the face just for spite. It is a Rockford Fosgate RFX-9000 MP3-CD player. Can you order a replacement from the company? I couldn't figure out how on their site. Does anybody else sell them? I would hate to buy a new head unit just because the faceplate was stolen.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to mention, some of the buttons on the faceplate don't even work from age and wear so the dipshit won't get away with much...if I see it up on Ebay I will recognize it and choose "Mossberg" as payment method. :D

I hope the OP isn't still looking after 12 years. Revived by spammer.

Stereo makers always want like 90% of the price of the deck itself for a replacement faceplate. You're probably better off looking for a new one. Relatively great car stereos have become super inexpensive over the past few years.

Yeah, but I'm sure if he has a reciept or something he'd be able to try and get one for the non-rape price...

Call and tell them your story. I can see them not freely giving away faceplates because then anyone can steal one and write to the company. Offer to fax them your invoice as proof of ownership. I don't think they'd make a huge fuss since you have proof of ownership but then again, a lot of things aren't logical...

Exactly... And it's a long process to get the replacement faceplate... That's the whole idea of the detachable faceplate being a security feature... if the thieves only has the base unit, it will be hard for them to get the faceplate replaced and make the whole unit work...

You will be better off just getting a whole new unit...

That's definitely information worthy of bumping a 12 year old thread...
