Where to buy network patch cables?

If you are buying more then a couple dollars worth of cable check out http://www.monoprice.com

They charge standard shipping rates, even for a $0.10 cable so keep that in mind. Otherwise their prices are always really low and their service is really fast.

I just bought a bunch of cables from Monoprice for less than I would have spent for one cable at a local store. Definitely consider them.

Monoprice's cables are dirt-cheap, very reasonable shipping, wide-selection, and very fast shipping. I hate to sound like an advertisement, but I've never found any place better.

Everyone always mentions the price of patch cables at monoprice, but how is the quality? I'm guessing at least decent?

I have yet to see a difference between the 5 ft cable I got for 23$ at BestBuy and the 1-2$ I got for 10ft at monoprice. No data corruption of any sort, so I'm happy.

A good crimper, some connectors and some bulk Cat5e might be in order if you plan on networking from now on.
Make sure and buy a Cable Tester if you're going to make your own.

I don't have a Fluke to measure them. I can say that I've used hundreds of them over the past couple of years and have yet to have any apparent problem with one. I give them away to clients when I've dug into their network trying to find why things aren't working properly. The cause is often the use of hand-crimped cables.

WoW, it's unanimous then, Monoprice! I've bought my A/V cables from them a while back, I didn't think about them for network cables for some reason...

Thanks for posting!

I don't have a Fry's out here... only Staples and Best Buy. They love charging $15 for stuff like that :|

Hell... I'm thinking about buying in bulk and selling them to my co-workers 🙂

Price? Low.

Quality? Good.

Shipping? Cheap.

I've purchased a few times from Monoprice and I'll likely purchase again in the future.
