I know that Outpost.com/Fry's is selling these things, does anyone else know of any other stores that are selling SL6S2 spec'd P4's?

Well I could not resist. I just ordered a 2.53 OEM chip from Runtime Computer Corperation.
They do not have the best last 6mo. reseller rating. But lifetime is just under 8.
$171.66 shipped second day... Hope they even send it. I am in Alaska and they only charged $7.66 shipping. I know that is wrong as the cheapest UPS will ship to me would be under $25, but over $20...
<--- Keeping my fingers crossed on shipping and a good CPU :)

I just now got off the phone with Runtime Computer as there was a difference in my billing and shipping address. Anyway after getting it all sorted out, I asked if I can get a C1 SL6S2 stepping CPU.
I was then put on hold for about 2 minutes and I finaly got a reply.
"All our OEM CPU's are C1 stepping and we'll send you a SL6S2 CPU."
:)

Now correct me if I am wrong, but are all C1 2.53GHz CPU's mVID? I thought Intel made the transition to mVID's when Intel stopped the B0 production to goto the C1...
Anyway I will update when it arrives to confirm it's stepping. Because Fedex/UPS only ships to street address and my billing is a PO box... it will not ship till Monday.
My guess is eta will be the 24th or 25th unless they call again and delay the order for me being in Alaska and need more money to ship (see sig.) :p.

Nope, there were some C1 2.53 GHz non-multiple VID CPU's produced. In fact, I just checked and Intel is now producing D1 stepping CPU's.

My opinion will be forged when this CPU arrives though.
2.53GHz
Runtime vs. Outpost.com
$164 vs. $209

2.66GHz
$209 vs. $270

I think I'd be very tempted to take my chances with Runtime if calling them up would confirm a particular processor SL spec that is shipping. A 2.66 for the price of a 2.53 from Outpost might well be worth it!

EDIT: Fixed price issue, OEM vs. Retail Boxed. Sorry I didn't carefully read the description.

No, they are still $209 for the 2.53!

The mVID chips are oem, not the retail for those seeking. I know Intel has boxed some of the mVID chips, but we are buying the oem's.

I don't know what stepping retail 2.53's are shipping from Outpost, however, there was a post yesterday that someone had recieved a Philippines 2.53 from Outpost that would not OC worth a crap!

yeah, they raised them after they found out how good the chips were selling :)

they also raised the 2.4B SL6RZ processors $10 as well. I paid $159 and the next day they were $169 ;)

Some of the recent Dell 4550s have come with multiVID (OEM) chips (SL6S3 2.66 C1). I have not yet removed it to overclock it.

My CPU can in from Runtime today. Now I need to get the computer built. Chip markings are as follows.

2.53GHZ/512/533
SL6S2 Malay
L246B062-0216

And there are no bent pins :)
It would appear Runtime puts Outpost in the black for price and shipping :D.
Have at em' boys :)

I'm sure a lot of people would if Runtime had any in stock. Something fishy is going on right now with the 2.53 GHz chips, prices have jumped quite a bit in the last week and many retailers are simply out of stock. Anyone care to speculate? Too many enthusiasts buying up good 2.53 GHz chips maybe?
