Where to buy mason jars?

How many is a lot, and what size are you looking to get ? Pint size? Quart? I've seen them sold in cases (around 16 jars per case) at grocery stores like Safeway.

Grocery stores, Target sells them, seen them at KMart too. Of course they're air tight- they're used for canning! There's a boiling technique you have to do to get them air tight though.

I make a lot of homemade salsa and buy mine by the case at Big Lots. Not sure if you have that chain in your area but they're a lot cheaper through them if you have one nearby.

Mason jars also tend to be seasonal at local grocery stores. Sometimes it's tough to find them outside the canning season.

Ball Canning Jars- Dome Lids and Bands

Ball has been a leader in home canning since 1884. Ball jars have preserved literally tons of fruit and vegetables over the past 120 years. A symbol of America's past. All jars include bands and lids. Made in the USA.

Note: Jars are sold by the case only.

Ball also makes satellites. Isn't that messed up?
