McCormick cilantro is $2.99 for 1/2oz at my local grocery store. I go thru a bottle every 2 months.

Any place to get it cheaper?

And where to get the LARGE 3.75oz container of McCormick's cilantro?

grow it . . . it can grow like basil in a sunny S-exposure window

other than that, look for a "country market" . . . mine sells a "bunch" - 2oz, i'd guess, for $.49.

It's not too popular. Cilantro changes considerably when dry. The reason people use fresh cilantro is that is has a VERY unique flavor and aroma. When dried that disappears. Any recipe that calls for cilantro call for fresh cilantro and the dried cannot be used as a real substitute as it doesn't even taste close to the fresh stuff. Grow your own, it's not that hard and while it can't be dried it CAN be frozen. Harvest a decent crop once a year and you can freeze enough to last the rest of the year.

I agree on the growing it suggestion. It is easy to grow herbs in pots. Or you could buy it in bulk fresh and dry it yourself. Here in TX the stuff is cheap and plentiful.

On a side note. For some reason cilantro is the only food I literally can't stand. Even if a minute amount of it touches my food I can somehow taste it, especialy if its wet/soaked.

I got a kit for Christmas last year that grows herbs in your kitchen window. It's pretty cool :) Just have to snip some basil, oregeno, or whatever I need out of my mini garden.

Yeah, fresh herbs are a ripoff.

I figured as much...doesn't seem like an herb that would take well to drying. I usually buy a big bunch and freeze whatever's left as well.
