Where to buy hardware in San Fransisco?

Hi there!

I have the opportunity (at least I hope so) to go to San Fransisco in business and I wonder if there's anyone here that know a good place to buy computer hardware there.
If someone can link to their shop would be great!

prethanks!

If you can rent a car - go to Fry's electronics in Palo alto. It is about a 45 minute drive one way. Or try to hit the www.robertaustin.com shows at the Cow Palace or Oakland during the weekends but look at their schedule first...

By the way, welcome to San Francisco!

I hear there's some nice shops around the intersection of Haight and Ashbury. Though I don't think there's anything computer related in them.

...if you can, take a day off to check out the Exploratorium. It owns.

still buying hardware at a b&m store when the wonders of the internet and price search engines bring
great deals to all the world?

just kidding. Frys is probably your best bet. make sure to search the hot deals forum for frys deals before you go.

It's not like you're going to Hong Kong looknig for authentic Asian spices or anything. They sell the exact same hardware at Best Buy and CompUSA around San Francisco as they do everywhere else. The only computer store that I can think of that would actually be interesting to go to in SF is the Apple store they just opened there.

central computer

Yeah, I spent a lot of cake at that place years ago. I bought mw two Voodoo 2s ($560!), some RAM, and other stuff there, and they were always pleasant to deal with and price-competitive.

I can understand that confusion, but I live i Sweden and I get to take the nice trip to SF in business and I want to look around for hardware and see if there's any great deals "over there" compared with deals in Sweden.

There's one thing I really like to buy "over there" and it is a JOS MP-300, mp3-player with built-in FM-transmitter. So nice to have in the car... And that player is NOT legal to use in Sweden - hehehe

Anyone here knows a store that sells that player? Or any other player with built-in FM-transmitter?

Thx for all the replies!
