Where to buy hardware at the San Francisco, CA area?

Hi, Im from Chile and im flying to San Francisco on tuesday. I was wondering, where can I buy cheap computer parts in the San Francisco area?

No CompUSA or Circuit City. I also thought Fry's but that is still expensive. I want to buy a wireless router, a wireless PCI card a two Hitachi SATA II 80gb harddrives.

Greetings from Chile 😀

I usually buy off of the internet. Sometimes Best Buy has good deals. That, CompUSA, and Fry's are the only computer stores I can think of around here.

Oh man if that's what you think then you're overpaying. Retail is for suckers.

Fry's is generally the 'cheapest' for parts you need.. not for parts you've been lookign for onsale or planned on ordering for sometime.

also they carry a lot of obscure stuff... Their icu section saved me on a couple projects admittantly 😛

For new parts, check out Fry's in Palo Alto - they are about 20 minutes south from the airport where you land. For used parts, check out Craigslist. The computer shows here in the SF Bay Area are now defunct and rumors going around that a lot of stolen merchandise was being sold or co-mingled. Just rumors of course!

Welcome to SF where the men are pretty and the women are strong.

fry's is about the cheapest you can get unless you have a reseller license. IF you got one of those, there are some small-ish wholesalers in Milpitas/San Jose that will give good prices on stuff if you purchase with your wholesale license.....

.... but seeing that you're an international visitor, it's unlikely you can swing that.
