I have a couple cheap cases with front usb & audio ports, but no connectors. see pic

I don't care about the audio, but I'd like to install the usb. Anyone got any ideas on where I can buy these?

thanks in advance.

BTW, I didn't know exactly where to post this, mods please feel free to move in necessary.

frontX has both drive bay assemblies and separate cables. The cables are easy to separate from the little bezels that come with them just by removing the little collar nut. Good site to bookmark!

VERRRRRRY nice. thank you! and yes that is a great site to bookmark for sure.

bump, that site doesn't sell the configuratin I need.

Here's part of the email I got back from them:
Your case use the circuit board 2 USB's stack connector. We do not sell
this. Sorry about that.

Ours is panel mount bulkhead connector.

anyone else got any ideas?

thanks

Explain to me what - oh, I see. How far are your mobo headers from the front panel, IOW, how much cable do you need between front panel and header?

The stack USB jacks are generally for PCB mounting, which is probably what your case should have - a little PCB that has the USB and audio jacks on it and mounts there somehow. You could get two of frontx's single USB cables and rig a way to mount them one above the other. They have components so you could combine the two 5 pin header connectors into one 10-pin header connector. Or you can get a PCB mount stack, a piece of PCB and build your own.

I haven't built these rigs yet so I don't know exactly. I would expect needing the normal length (18" or so)

I think I see you working here.....taking the normal rear PCI mount usb accessory that comes with a lot of mobo's and modding it to fit up front. It did cross my mind as well. I just think it may be more work than it's worth. Some of the ones I have are molded into plastic mounts, then screwed to the PCI plate.

I'm contemplating that, still holding to hope that I can find the stack USB's mounted onto a PCB w/ leads all ready to go.
I might try contacting a couple case companies, although most of them probably don't even speak english lol

thanks for the help so far Zepper

A nice dude over at amdmb.com had a couple stacked ports he ripped out of an old case, just laying around. He's hooking me up.

This should take care of my needs for now. Hopefully
