Where to buy decent furniture?

I need a desk and an entertainment center (27" tv) for my apartment, looking to spend $250-$300 for both. I went looking around here in NY but the two places that had nice furniture at decent prices, IKEA and Bostovs, don't exist out in the west. Are there any stores there, or more specifically the Denver/Boulder area, that sell furniture along those lines?

Oh and I've scoured craigslist and everything that hasn't been taken is craptacular.

Salvation army eh? I thought that was mostly clothes.

If that doesn't work I'm still looking for furniture stores..

It's hard to find "Ikea-like" contemporary furniture here in Denver. American Furniture Warehouse is probably your best bet for cheap decent furniture. Design within Reach has some nice contemporary furniture but costs an arm and a leg...

Furniture Room on Santa Fe has some pretty nice contemporary furniture at somewhat reasonable prices too if you want to check that out.

Hope that helps!

can't you get ikea to deliver?

meh, i don't think i'd ever buy furniture w/o at least getting an in person look at it.

ikea is the same, in every store in every country. you know the pieces, just a matter of paying for them. 🙂

true, I made the assumption he didn't know what he was looking for exactly... but if he did, then order away.
