Almost have everything I need for my new comp except for the processor and the video card. I was just wondering if anyone had any places online to recommend off the top of their heads. Yeah, I know about Pricewatch, but I don't really like using it, since most of the links with the lower prices rip you off in other ways, or sometimes the store seems too shady.

So where should I buy a Thunderbird proc from? What's a good price for the 1.2 ghz these days? Preferrably retail box. I heard it comes with the Taisol heatsink.

On another note, anyone know where I can pick up a Matrox G400max (I've seen it for around $200) or the G450 (seen it for around $150) for cheap? How about the 80.1gb Maxtor hd (seen it for around $250)?

Thanks for the help guys... and gals...

Atacom.com has some good prices on CPUs.

Have you thought about buying from some of the guys that sell here at the forums? I got a 700E from compuwiz1 that runs at 933. He sell pre-tested with Gaurenteed speeds. There is also some guys that sell AMD CPUs.

Thanks Stallion. Checking out ATAcom right now... maybe I should have bought my MSi mobo from them too and save on shipping. I'll look for the guy that sells AMD chips too. Anyone else?

Would you guys recommend buying proc's @ computer shows? Are they much cheaper? I'm afraid of getting ripped off and getting a remarked CPU...

TCWO is the place I always go to, they have some of the lowest prices on everything, and if you don't need it right away shipping is only 6.95 for UPS ground. They have an Athlon 1.1Ghz for $367, and a 1.2Ghz for $492, I think that it really isn't worth an extra 125 for just 100Mhz though.

I hate computer shows, it's all a bunch of crap they sell, and if something breaks your screwed for the most part, I've never seen anyone have an easy time trying to return something. I guess if you were going to buy a processor at a computer show I would only go with durons or celerons, that way if they die, your only down 100 bucks, not 350.
