Anyone know where I can get cheap boxes? All the places around here are charging an arm and a leg. I need to get about 30-40 boxes for moving from the apartment to our new house.

Did you try liquor stores? Most of my stuff gets moved in liquor boxes that I got long ago. If I need more, just check in with one or two places and they will usually give me what they have.

Walmart is your friend...and I'm talking about their dumpsters, not the inside.

When my wife and I moved I had an endless supply from the back of their store.

yup...just go to the back of Office Depot or similar store and grab those boxes..if you feel uncomfortable, just politely ask the customer service.

go to a moving company, you can get used boxes. then if you bribe the guy with a $20 he'll give you a stack of new boxes. at least that's what I did.

That is what I do. They always seem to have a million boxes. People must drink a hella lot of liquor.

Hit the produce department at your local grocery store. Ask them to save you orange boxes (grapefruit and lemons too), and banana boxes. The citrus boxes are small enough to hold heavier items, like dishes, while the banana boxes are for the lighter items. They are very strong and stack well. I've moved twice using only those two types of boxes. Most stores will save them, if you ask. I have gotten better luck asking at the produce department rather than at the customer service desk. Lynn
