Where to buy and sell jewelry

When looking to get jewelry for the missus we all know the mall would be the worst option. So...

Is there any reputable places online to get jewelry?
If you're trying to sell a ring is there a good place?

I'd be interested in this too. I have a diamond engagement ring I'm looking to sell. Purchased it for $5000 a few years back, curious how much I would be able to get for it.

The price you paid doesn't mean anything. Stats are all that matter.

Personally, neither Lola nor I have a problem with getting second hand jewelery. If I can get a bigger rock for the same price, why not? Check out Craigs List for prices. Try to get ones that are certified.

Diamonds are worthless, regardless.

Exactly. What is the big deal with buying used? there is none. Craigs list has sooo much and there are so many cheap baubles!

I've been seeing some comerials at night about 'sending your OLD GOLD' then they send you a check.
Can remember the actually name of company. I thought it was funny.
Sounds like a way to increase the local crime rate to me.
Anything, expecially jewelry is only valuable and sellable to certain people. Just like a comic book is only valuable to a collector.

i tend to think that the zealots on the anti-debeers side are just as insane as the debeers side. Obviously they are not worthless because people buy and sell them all the time. Even if diamonds are overvalued (which I think they are, at MSRP), that's why I don't buy them from stores. Prices are what the market can handle.

Maybe to you... but to others, they mean something.

to be honest...if you want brand new jewelry at a decent price...look around on bluenile. They might not have the best prices, but they are above average for sure and good quality.

Do they mean something specific to you? I am sensing that it signifies the love you and IamWiz share. I am not talking down upon that, I'm just saying there are cheaper/more valuable ways to do that (gold/silver).

It depends how much you're looking to buy and sell. Are you looking to buy in bulk and get an alternator sized amount of jewelry? We can't really help without details.

The signify that we are following a tradition of diamonds (no matter who invented it) that represnts love and everlastingness. 😱 also, i like them. I like jewelry... all types and I feel special that my husband would want to buy me something nice like a diamond.

Some people like spending money on their cars, others their computers or home entertainment systems. To each is to own and i am ok with that.

To be honest, i did not care if i got a CZ ring or a created diamond ring, but he wanted to get me a real diamond and that meant a lot to me because i knew he was spending his money on something he knew i would love.

I'm just looking for a reputable place to buy jewelry for the missus on X-mas and her Birthday. Based on all the replies it seems everyone says just go on Craigslist or BlueNile.

Were there any others?
