where to buy an acrylic slab?

In my rig the PSU is at the bottom of the case but since it sits under my desk, the PSU fan is sucking air from the inside of the case, otherwise the carpet will block the air. I want to make sure I run my system with positive pressure and I was thinking on flipping the PSU and put my ring on top of a slab so the carpet won't be an issue. Don't really have additional desk space so the rig has to stay under the desk.
Any ideas?

You can probably just buy a piece of shelving at your local home improvement store. I think my local Menards sells such stuff in 11" widths with your choice of finish (white/black/wood) and in various lengths. Probably a 2' section would work fine.

never put electronics directly on a carpet. i'm currently using a spare cutting board, but anything will do. if you want sheet metal or acrylic to do something with, performance pc's and frozencpu have them for sale.

You can get a piece of acrylic at TAP Plastics or most glass shops.

If you go this route, have them round the corners to save your bare toes...

goto a hardware store.

u can even ask them to cut it for you there... and you probably will if its a thick piece of acrylic.

I use old paperbacks that I have that I will absolutely never read as spacers to keep my PC elevated off the carpet.

This is a good idea, but I wanted to make it less of an eyesore for my wife.

You can't even tell that the books are under the computer. One 2-3 inches back from the front, and one at the back. It gave about 1 inch clearance off the ground which is enough for the air to get through... Unless the old lady is laying on the ground in front of the computer (in which case, pics or it didn't happen) she probably wouldn't know.

Polycarbonate, also known as Tuffack if I remember right is available, usually cut to size from industial safety suppliers. This is the stuff used (in sufficient thickness) as "bullet resistant". Easier to work with and much more crack resistant,

I expect folding and gluing Naugahyde around a book would make it a designer accessory.

Wouldn't sliding out you computer on a piece or acrylic on carpet equal a crazy static discharge if you are not careful?
