Where to buy a nice watch?

My current watch is not in good shape. Not only is it starting to look bad, but the battery is dead. Rather than buying a new battery, I've decided to get a new watch. Where do you recommend that I get a nice watch from? I'm looking for a nice solar or biorythm watch, but the only places I know to go are place like kiosks in the mall. Problem is that they gouge you like mad. Does anyone have any good suggestions for watches and/or places to get watches?

My price range varies depending on the watch. I don't like gold. Thanks

lol, I guess I would have to set the limit at $300. Anything more and I will find something else that I like for cheaper ;)

For $300, you can buy a very good looking Rolex knock off with real swiss movement. Come with a box and a certificate of "Authenticity". :D

$300 = max. I want cheaper, but if I see something really good for $300, I may spring. Brand name = nothing to me.

i have an AWESOME fossil watch that i got for 50 bucks that gets comments all the time when I go out. i mean, all the time. Its very slick silver watch with a black face that I can change to red as well. people will be wearing 500+ dollar watches and ask me what kind I'm wearing. When i respond fossil, they get a bit upset, cuz my 50 dollar watch is 10x cooler then theirs.

You're right, some of their watches look pretty cool.

Looks like they dont carry either of my watches anymore :( I also have a yellow faced watch which set me back 65 a few years ago. Both awesome watches, especially for the price.

Festina makes some very nice watches in your price range. I've had one for several years and it's running like the proverbial swiss timepiece. :p

The Invicta is a good choice. You can get a Seiko for that price as well.

There are SO many interesting watches in your price range. I strongly prefer mechanical watches, rather than kinetic/solar-electronic watches, but to each his own. Check out the many excellent offerings at Chronograph.com, and there are lots of interesting watches on eBay as well. Look for Seiko, Citizen, Zeno, Invicta, Hamilton, and the list goes on and on. There are some really nice Russian watches too, especially the Poljots powered by the ETA 2824-2 movement. See, e.g., this one.
