My pc has been overheating and rebooting and just annoying the hell out of me recently. Then I noticed why, the fan on the chipset died and the factory chipset heatsink is the crappiest I've ever seen. So I need to pull it off and replace it. The chipset for this board is:
VIA APOLLO KT400A
VIA VT8235CE
(That's pulled off their website)
So I need to find a replacement hsf for the chipset, but have no clue what to get. Do I need one with a fan? Can't I just get a good heatsink?
Also I have a volcano 7 hsf on my cpu and it's running hot as well, is it possible that it's running hot b/c the chipset is hot? I only have an xp 2100+ and I'm pretty sure my hsf was rated to cool up to 2700+ *shrug* but I'm up for recommendations to a better hsf for my cpu as well.
