Go get some coupon codes at techbargains
and then on checkout, see if Dell's doing
free shipping.
On monitors, that in itself is a big deal.
Also, don't think cuz a store doesn't
advertise it, there might not be rebates
on a monitor from the manuf..
I went today to Sony and found a 100 buck
rebate on the monitor I was considering that
Dell didn't even advertise/....?
Add the 10 percent off code and it made for
a pretty substantial discount with the free
next day shipping they're doing right now.
I personally think yer nuts to be doing a 20 inch
screen on lcd....they are HIGHER THAN HELL
and not much more real estate than a 17.4 or an 18.1
and even if they were they're still typically 1280x1024 or
not much higher than that.......

As an aside:
I was going to buy the new SOny X series 18 inch screen
that came out this week. I assumed the rise/fall rates
would be the same as their 15 inch x series that has been
out for a while
I was mistaken
The 15 incher was 10 rise/20 fall
The 18 incher was 20 rise/30 fall (NEARLY HALF AS FAST!)
To my surprise however, the upcoming 17 inch X series screen
is 5 rise/20 fall (milliseconds) which is the best of the three.....
Guess I'll be waiting a bit and save a little cash and get the 17.4 inch
screen......
I do like the new Sony monitors with digital inputs, integral power supply
and good speakers etc.
The 18 can be had under 800 with the steps I listed above
and the 17 should be able to be gotten in the 6's provided Dells
generosity holds out......but the lesson is, never assume...always read
specs/reviews etc.
