Where can you find one cheap so that I can use my old power supply that has 20-pin atx? I looked around, the adapter is not costly at all, but the shipping bumps it up to about $10.

a1netusa.com has it for $3
acrotech.com has it for $4
tons of places have it for $3-4 on froogle.
But all the shipping are like $5-6. totally disgusting for such a cheapo item.

The reason why there are 4 extra pins is that 20 aren't enough to safely feed the required current into the board. Think about it. That current limit applies to the top end of an adapter just as well as to the connector directly on the mainboard - in fact, adding another layer of connectors makes the problem worse.

Cheap shouldn't be the deciding factor. Well constructed should be.

Thermaltake Adapter

And Newegg stocks them---> Adapter but it seems they are currently out of stock. I did an AutoNotify for stock and they had one in two days.
