Vanessa Carlton is rather talented. I have not heard her cover, but I would like to.

I heard a story that the intro came very close to being erased by the band's manager because they were having a hard time synching up Bono's vocals with the intro.
Story goes that the somebody had to actually physically restrain him from deleting the tape.

Close call, cause thats an awesome song.

Is this truly the first time you've heard it? Or first time that you knew what it was called? Sh1t man, this is one of my favorites and easily one of the best, how could you not know it! :p

The entire Joshua Tree album is incredible. I'm still fond of "In God's Country" above the other, better-known, songs on the album though.

For me Joshua Tree was U2 at their peak. It was a letdown after that. They still have some good songs, but no GREAT ones.
