I'm just practice in installing windows 2000 under DOS. When I run 'winnt'..it would say if I run 'Smartdrive'..win 2000 will be install faster.

Is 'Smartdrive' suppose to come with win98 boot disk?

Where the hell it is?

Thanks

You definately want SMART DRIVE installed. Without it your WIN2K install will take literally hours.

You'll need to get it off a Win98 computer. I believe it's in the system folder. Run it from a dos prompt then run the win2k setup file.

It's on the 98 cd under tools\oldmsdos. You'll need himem.sys loaded before you can run smartdrv.exe, if i remembered correctly. Trust me Smartdrv makes the installation run ALOT faster.
