Its not expensive. I did a euro trip for 3500$ including ticket from west canada and back. Trip took 3.5 months.

I'd be interested in seeing the break down of your expenses. Even most hostels I've seen still cost 15 or so Euro a night so that's 18-19 dollars right there a day. For 105 days that's almost 2000. And flight probably 500 depending on what time of year it was that only leaves 10 dollars (8 euros) a day for all food and other expenses. Not saying that it can't be done but it just doesn't seem like you'd be able to do much on that kind of budget.

It could have been one of those tours, in which case they can sometimes be cheap.

cool that he went to so many places, but i though the video was rather lame. A blog with tons of pictures would have been much more enlightning.

I love how everyone says it's cheap. What is cheap? I mean $30k? $10k? How many countries? And how do you want to live? Sorry, but I don't always want to live in a hostel everywhere I'd go. What's the point of travelling if you are uncomfortable? I'd like to shower at least once a day. And not eat McDonald's all the time.

hostels have showers, mcdonalds is rarely the cheapest way to eat...for me it's about seeing the sights and experiencing the country, i don't need to stay in a four-star hotel to do so

Aye. And you can actually find decent, but cheap food in most cities.

that's friggin awesome. reminds me of one of the AT members going around the world and blogging it. He said he spent $30k on the trip i think?

I'll be in South America in a few weeks at the place that opens his 2nd video - the Uyuni Salt Flats in Bolivia. I can't wait to see that and Machu Picchu (also in the video).
