It's freaking Wal-Mart. If their customers were allowed to find matches unsupervised every store would be a pile of ashes. If Wal-Mart has a shred of sense they're locked up tighter than the ammunition.

I went looking for lighters a few years back and couldn't find them in local pharmacies. Took a while to find them at Wal-Mart by the registers. Then i stopped looking and they started showing up everywhere including pharmacies. FML.

LOL, ask a walmart employee? I can tell you don't walmart.
Actually some of the employees carry around devices where they type in something and it tells them exactly where the item is located in a pseudo in-store GPS. They moved a canned item on me one time and the women typed in the item and it directed her to where the item was in that store at that time and the quantity. I was impressed and I think she was, too.

I loathe going to Walmart these days. 18 registers, the most that are ever open is 3. Ridiculously long lines any time of the day, even the 24/7 one. I try to avoid it as much as possible & will even pay a little extra to Amazon to have the basics shipped in so I don't have to go there. I was just there the other day & was in there for so long that I forgot the main thing I went in to get, lol. The employees were beyond unhelpful too...I must have talked to a half dozen of them to find a simple wall-mounted coat rack. I ended literally spending over an hour looking for it (even googled it on my phone to try finding the location lol). Wish I had just used Amazon, could have sprung for overnight for a few bucks lol.

Yup...but that's only free 2-day, so if you want it sooner, you gotta shell out. Fortunately it's usually only a few bucks more if you need it next-day. Unfortunately I had people coming over & needed a coat rack that night. Still in assembly phase of current rental :D

They sell Zippo lighters, but two employees told me that they don't sell the lighter fluid for them.

Canadian Tire has basically the same thing. You can set up the app with your local store and it will tell you how much and in which aisle for any given product. I use it before I go, so I only spend the minimum amount of time there. It will even tell you where the stuff is that's on the floor or at the front or back of the store.

No GPS function, but still excellent.

Just an idea...with meth use exploding it would make sense to limit matchbook sales (red sulpher is used in making it). Same reason they regulate amphetamine cold medication.

typically they are in the aisle where the paper plates, plastic forks, picnic supplies are, at least in ours anyway.
This is where I found them in my local mini-Walmart. I looked there bc it made sense to me for some reason.

I got a big box (either 200 or 500, I forget... the size of a tall juice box) of wooden matches for like $2. I use them as bolts for my mini crossbow.
