For how many years now Intels top desktop procesoor has been dual core then quad core...
Where is the 8 core + hyperthreading
These 2600K CPU's cost 3 times less then the 980 Xtreme yet out perform it. That is great but we "people that render" want more cores before I pull the trigger.
Going from a quad to another quad is not a upgrade. Its a change in sceneray
Going from a quad to hexacore or 8 core 12 core is more of a upgrade. Until then if you want your super pie to be fast or 3dmark to be fast,,get MandyFridge Bottom line chances are your using 20 percent of CPU at peak with your net and e-mail apps. Some people have multithreaded apps Vegas Premiere Sonar X1 .....
and for the people that bought Candybridge u pulled the trigger too soon. Wait til 3rd Q and new chipset new 6 core CPU's... thx gg and gl,
